LBD Hafla - Cant Wait !!!

Hi I am new!!  Cant wait for details of the LBD Hafla... as it is the first Hafla you guys will have done it is bound to be ACE!!   There are loads this year and I am planning on going to as many as poss!!

PS: Photos of us at Misterton hafla are really good - wicked night!!  and I am sorry I am not smiling more (me in silver at front) - too much concentration and not enough alcohol ... LOL

Thanks Maz,  Very Happy  I'll get the details up ASAP.

You ladies from Louth did a great job and we love having you!

Smiling and dancing at the same time can be a bit like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time... or so I'm told . Somebody should do a workshop on it! Laughing
maz

Definately ..... I am up for that!!  Will have to invest in some pegs until then tho.  LOL  Laughing

Count me in for both practising smiling and haflas!

Both are great fun Laughing

smiling and dancing

Hi girls just to say smiling and dancing is so much easier than you may think!! I will cover some useful suggestions and techniques at Banat el Raqs open workshop (Stage Presence) on the 7th April if you're free! Please feel free to join us I'm sure the ladies would be happy to have you. Give them  a ring! xx

As that is a Monday I wont be able to go  Sad coz I will be working - but if you will be doing that sort of thing again it would be great to know where (preferably a weekend).  I think a lot of it is down to confidence of what you are doing and relaxing with it... then again, easier said than done!! LOL  Razz
maz

O No!!!!  I have just put the LBD Hafla date in my diary and notice it is the same weekend as the Belly Dance Superstars will be in Blackpool....  Sad

I missed it last year so really have to go to that this year - can the date not be changed?? Laughing

If not I will definately come to your 2nd one!!  Laughing

Oh I would be gutted to miss the LBD hafla too but quite fancy blackpool!

I've seen the BDSuperstars, if it's an option then I'd say they outclass us by just a wee bit... And there's an outside chance of good weather in June too!

The Winter Gardens are a bit of a seaside venue (meal options when we were there two years ago stretched to hamburger and chips and hot dogs) but the show should be outstanding. Thank God they don't allow smoking now, I seem to remember watching through clouds of cigarette smoke.

We booked a self catering flat for the weekend, it was quite good and that could be an economical option for a group of ladies. There's lots of choice on the internet and should be some vacancies as it's not in school holidays.

I'm not trying to get rid of you of course!  Laughing
maz

Ah WOW!!! I am soooo excited about going now!!!  Cant wait!!  Fanx 4 ur help too, we should have a look into it.  I was going to just call the Tourist Info and get stuff off them to show the girls and then choose??  Going to have to save up big stylee - esp if Souke on - LOL  Laughing

OK Maz, Have a great time and take notes... because I'm going to expect you to write a review!

I can edit it if needed so don't worry about not knowing how to write reviews, NO EXCUSES!   Mwa Ha ha ha HAA!!

B.T.W. Here's the place we stayed at, it's not the Ritz but it was good value for money, clean, quiet, comfy beds and a two minute slow stroll from the seafront.... and no, we DON'T get commission!

OMG!!!  My review will be full of ...it was ACE ... I fell over.... I will be as good as them one day.... LOL  -  God knows what I would put???  Are you serious about the review??.....  I can send you pics tho coz I always take my camera to those sort of things  Laughing

Laughing  Of course I'm serious! Don't worry, this isn't "The Times" and we're a very uncritical readership. As I said, I'd be happy to edit it for you and will give any help I can. You might even find you enjoy it and become a regular contributor!  Wink  You could always get your friends to work on it with you and cover different workshops or points of view.

Trish and Claire both have fun with theirs and have their own style, I'm even doing one or two myself now (there were a couple I wrote that I decided not to publish) and am enjoying doing it. I'm in the middle of writing one about Connie's henna tattoo that she got at JoY which should be finished later today.

Photos will be good too..... I follow the rule that the more you take the more chance you have of getting a good one. At a hafla I take about 200 - 300  Shocked and get between 30 and 80 that are worth looking at and maybe 4 or 5 that are good. I'd take more but I need a better camera with a flash that recycles faster.  The only problem is that I end up watching most hafla/shows through the camera viewfinder.  Crying or Very sad
Once in a while I leave the thing at home so I can just watch and enjoy but then I get disappointed ladies asking where my camera is and aren't they going to get their pictures on the website this time.  Laughing
maz

I will give it a try 4u then - as long as you tinker with it afterwards (Im no journalist)!!  LOL  I like the idea about us all doing different workshops too.  so we can go back to class and know everything !!  Razz  LOL

I know what you mean about the camera thing too...  I am sure mine runs on steam it is that old  Laughing
