Has anyone got any technique improving exercises that they would recommend?

I tend to try and practise my moves in front of a mirror to try and work on isolation, and when cleaning my teeth but i have been told by the photocopier is a good place to!

Any other recommendations or specific things to practise?

A simple idea I picked up from Khaled at JoY for daily practice is to practise shimmying while ironing, vacuuming, and cooking!  I tried shimmying while washing the dishes and it sure helps me to remember to relax the top half of me while the legs shimmy.  Otherwise, my arms shake and I can't do anything with them like wash dishes!

Just put some belly music on and spend 15 minutes practising moves!

I run through choreographies in my mind while I'm a passenger in the car, and although this doesn't improve technique, it helps me memorise steps and moves.  My husband often sees my hands moving about and gives me funny looks!  Rolling Eyes

This sounds a bit bizarre but it really works. when trying to perfect laying techniques anything that involves doing two jobs at once really really helps! (women tend to be quite good at this anyway!!) But tapping out a rhythm with your toes whilst tapping an accent beat with your fingers can be done anywhere and it really helps to separate and isolate different areas of your body. Similarly tapping out a rhythm whilst circling your head or the old favourite of patting your head and circling your tummy. I have found that these little tricks seriously help when it comes to layering different moves on top of each other.

Heres another one for the car (I too do the "practice moves in my head to the music adding the odd arm gesture" much to amusement of fellow motorists)....

Put on your fav song or drum solo and practice belly rolls, reverse camels, pops and locks etc. Doing it whilst sat down helps isolate upper and lower abs and stops you from using bits that you shouldnt...only do this in standing traffic. I wouldnt like this handy hint of the day to be responsible for crumpled bumpers!!

At the moment these seems a bit like rubbing your belly and tapping your head! I definatly need to keep practising! Rolling Eyes
